Privacy policy

The short version

This website has no sign-up, no forms and no mailing list. We never ask for your name, your email or any other personal detail, and there is nowhere on the site to enter one.

The only two things that touch your data are ordinary server logs and Google advertising. Both are described below.

What we do not collect

No accounts, no passwords, no user profiles. No contact form, no newsletter.

We run no analytics of any kind — no Google Analytics, no third-party measurement service. We have no way of recognising you between visits.

Server logs

The site is served through Cloudflare infrastructure. Like any web server, it records the technical details that accompany each request: IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time.

This is used to serve the site, prevent abuse and diagnose faults. It is not used to build a profile of you, and it is not sold or shared with third parties.

The camera try-on runs entirely on your device

Each setting page offers a try-on that turns on your camera so you can line yourself up against a reference pose. This is the part that most deserves a clear answer, because it sounds alarming.

The camera feed is processed by your browser, on your device, and is never transmitted anywhere. Nothing is recorded, captured, uploaded or stored. No server receives a single frame. The web version has no shutter button at all — taking and saving photos exists only in the app.

Your browser asks for permission before the camera starts, and you can revoke that permission at any time from your browser settings or the address bar.

Cookies and Google advertising

This website shows advertising through Google AdSense.

Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on this site. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and other sites on the Internet.

You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google’s Ads Settings at google.com/settings/ads. For other third-party vendors, you can opt out at aboutads.info/choices.

If you are in a region covered by the GDPR or comparable rules, Google presents a consent dialog before using cookies for personalised advertising, and the choice you make there is respected.

Images and files on this site

Reference pose images, screenshots and the demo video are all served from the posella.app domain itself. Your browser does not need to contact any third-party image host to view them.

About the Posella Android app

The website and the app are separate things, but many people arrive here to learn about the app, so here is the short version.

Photos you take in the app are saved to the photo library on your own device and are never uploaded to our servers. Poses you upload yourself are also stored on the device, in the app’s own storage. The app has no accounts, no sync and no cloud backup.

The app contacts our servers only to fetch the list of settings and the reference pose images. It also shows advertising through Google AdMob, which may use the device advertising ID in accordance with Google’s own policies.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

When this policy changes, the date at the top of the page is updated. Material changes will be stated in the text rather than made quietly.
